EPS, SulNOx Partner to Expand Use of Emission-Reducing Fuel Additive

Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) has signed an agreement with UK’s SulNOx Group to acquire and use 250,000 liters of SulNOxEco organic and biodegradable fuel conditioner on 30 of its ships for a minimum of 18 months per vessel.

SulNOx has reported that its emission-reducing fuel additive has been shown to reduce fuel consumption by 14.5%; reduce black smoke particulate matter by more than 96%; reduce CO2 by nearly 27%; reduce sulphur oxide emissions by 63%; and reduce nitrogen oxides by 14%.

Established in 1964 EPS manages a fleet of over 300 vessels. The company conducted an eight-month evaluation of SulNOxEco on various EPS-managed vessels including container ships, tankers, bulk and gas carriers. EPS is also transitioning its shipping fleet to more sustainable fuels. The company ordered six ammonia dual-fuel bulk ships to be delivered in 2026.

Radu Florescu, Chairman of SulNOx said, “Signing the marquee shipping name of EPS after an extensive evaluation period proves the effectiveness of SulNOx products beyond doubt at a time when the industry is crying out for solutions to reduce fuel consumption and associated emissions against a backdrop of increasing regulation.”

EPS Ventures Pte. will become a strategic shareholder in SulNOx and pay for the fuel additive through investment. It will subscribe for up to 11,692,025 new ordinary shares at a price of 2 pence per share. It will subscribe up to a further 4,719,795 ordinary shares over a maximum of three years based on successful introductions of large shipping customers to SulNOx. This would equate to a maximum further 3.3% of the enlarged issued ordinary shares Once fully issued, the Subscription shares would equate to a maximum of 8.5% of the enlarged issued Ordinary Shares.

“This partnership with SulNOx is a significant step towards achieving EPS’s long-term sustainability objectives,” Cyril Ducau, Chief Executive Officer of EPS. “By enhancing our operational efficiency and reinforcing our commitment to meeting global environmental standards, this collaboration further solidifies our position as a proactive leader in sustainable shipping practices.”
