Welch regenerative seaweed and shellfish farm Câr-y-Môr announced that it has acquired Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company.
Pembrokeshire Beach’s products, including Sea Truffle Butter, Seaweed Pesto, and Laverbread—a food product made of seaweed consumed mostly in Wales–can now be purchased on Câr-y-Môr’s site. Jonathan Williams, who founded Pembrokeshire in 2012, was a pioneer investor and early supporter of Câr-y-Môr.
“Câr-Y-Môr shares the same commitment to championing Welsh delicacies through sustainable food production that benefits the people and communities of Pembrokeshire,” he said. “I’m very pleased to see The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company moving on to an exciting new chapter.”
Câr-Y-Môr—which means “love of the sea”—grows seaweed and shellfish in an ecosystem the company calls a “garden” using no fertilizer, pesticides or freshwater. The company produces food and beauty products as well as fertilizer.
