Ocean Network Express (ONE) is pleased to announce the extension of its strategic partnership with Nike, expanding the deployment of ONE’s sustainable shipping solution, ONE LEAF+ to transport Nike products with ISCC-certified biofuels.
ONE LEAF+ is ONE’s dedicated service designed to help customers reduce their Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. The program uses biofuels such as Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester (UCOME) certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC). ISCC certification stipulates that the biofuels produced cannot come from crops deliberately produced for biofuels but must be taken from residues (stalks, chaff etc.) or from co-products of the crop.
The ONE LEAF service offers partners a solution to achieve up to 84% emissions reduction compared to Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) and to proactively manage their emissions and minimize environmental impact across their value chain. The service provides independently verified emissions reduction certificates to track progress towards their sustainability objectives.
ONE has provided key shipping services for Nike since 2018, expanding the scope in 2024 to include reduced-emission shipping through biofuels. This collaboration underscores both companies’ shared commitment to decarbonization and highlights the growing importance of sustainable shipping solutions in global trade.
