Malaysia-based seaweed biotech startup SEADLING has secured a $1 million seed investment. The company will use the funding to expand manufacturing capabilities, accelerate product innovation and strengthen its global presence across agriculture, animal health and human nutrition.
Founded in 2018, SEADLING operates large-scale seaweed farms in Borneo, working closely with local communities. The company’s hatchery technology and patent-pending fermentation process enable the production of high-value functional ingredients, including a plant-based vitamin K2 alternative.
This funding was backed by Toyo Seikan Group, The Yield Lab Asia Pacific, AgFunder, Katapult Ocean, and KUL LOESNINGAR 3.
”This funding empowers us to push boundaries, meet the increasing demand for sustainable functional ingredients and advance our mission of driving impactful innovation across the sector,” said Founder & Managing Director, Simon Davis.
