World Sustainability Organization Launches Carbon Offset Program to Help Companies Reduce Emissions

The World Sustainability Organization (WSO) has launched the Carbon Offset campaign, an initiative to help businesses and organizations reduce their environmental footprint.

In collaboration with carbon emission assessment company First, the Carbon Offset campaign offers businesses a comprehensive program to conduct a detailed assessment of their carbon footprint; develop strategies to reduce emissions where possible; and offset residual emissions through blue carbon and reforestation projects.

One of these projects is the Save the Seagrasses Campaign which supports the Sea Ranger Service, an initiative to restore one million hectares of marine biodiversity in six European countries by 2040 and train young people for maritime careers. Seagrass meadows absorb CO2 faster than terrestrial forests.

Another is the Save The Forests Campaign involving reforestation activities with local communities in Mali, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, and Indonesia. These tree monitoring and planting programs provide job opportunities for monitoring and planting. Trees and forests play a crucial role in absorbing CO2.

“While carbon offsetting is not the ultimate solution to climate change, it can be a crucial first step towards a more sustainable future,” said Paolo Bray, Founder and Director of the World Sustainability Organization. “Our program provides companies with the necessary tools to embark on this important transformation journey.“

Participating in the Carbon Offset campaign allows companies to obtain the WSO “Carbon Neutral” logo, create a forest or seagrass area, and receive a personalized impact report.
